Waves
Trey Edward Shults' Waves is an emotionally charged and visually inventive portrait of a suburban family pushed to its limits. Told in two distinct acts, the film captures the raw intensity of youth, the weight of expectations, and the quiet power of forgiveness. With immersive cinematography, a pulsating soundtrack, and gut-wrenching performances, Waves redefined how coming-of-age narratives can unfold, both chaotic and tender in equal measure.
For the theatrical release, the social campaign focused on the emotional arc of the characters, using their evolution as the through-line for content strategy. Visually striking editorial feed stoppers were crafted for Instagram and X, channeling the film's atmosphere through expressive typography, color theory, and motion design.
In addition to social-first storytelling, supporting creative for the theatrical rollout extended the film's emotional tone across digital and physical spaces. Every asset, from animated character moments to static typographic compositions, was designed to resonate deeply and mirror the film's shifting emotional terrain.
