About
Hello! You’ve found me.
I'm David Badounts, an Emmy-nominated Social-first Creative Director ⋆ Designer with 10+ years of experience in creative advertising, digital media, and film. Over the years, I've led social-first and 360 campaigns for more than 150 major film, TV, and gaming titles, sparking global conversations for brands and studios like YouTube, Activision, Blizzard, Meta, Netflix, A24, Disney, Pixar, Hulu, Marvel, Amazon, Warner Bros., Universal, Spotify, Apple, Sony Pictures, Fox Searchlight, Nike, Adidas, and plenty more.
As a relentless creative, I work with agencies and in-house teams to elevate creative thinking and execution. That includes shaping brand strategy, building and mentoring teams, winning new business, crafting bespoke content, and managing high-volume workloads while delivering white-glove service to clients.
Most recently, I served as Global Creative Director for YouTube's social verticals (including Music, Gaming, Creators, and Kids), where I led creative for over 500 million followers across all channels. I built and led a team of 10+ and spearheaded major campaigns like Coachella, Women's History Month, Black History Month, Pride Month, BTS' Proof launch, and YouTube Creator Gifting. Our work was widely shared and featured by artists like Billie Eilish, BTS, and Aespa.
Before that, at Hi5 Agency, I led the launch of Blizzard's Diablo II: Resurrected, creating always-on, fan-first content across all platforms. From launch trailers to community-driven activations like the Fooji x Diablo stunt, I worked closely with Blizzard to build 30/60/90 strategies that extended through the launches of Diablo: Immortal and the highly anticipated Diablo IV.
Across film and TV, I've led social campaigns for titles including Halloween Ends, She-Hulk, Top Gun: Maverick, Disney's Cruella (Clio Grand Winner), FX's Snowfall S6, The Gentlemen, Jojo Rabbit, Inside Out (Gold Communicator Winner), 10 Cloverfield Lane, War Dogs, Blockers, Late Night, Brittany Runs a Marathon, The Happytime Murders, Power Rangers, and many others.
Earlier in my career, I was a Creative Director specializing in title sequences. I concepted and directed work for Emmy-nominated Narcos S1, Godzilla, American Horror Story: Coven, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Mob City, Knight of Cups, and more.
I bring a relentless creative drive, a designer's eye, and a hands-on approach to the work, leading and inspiring teams to create in an inclusive and collaborative environment.
