About

You’ve found me. Hello!

My name is David Badounts, and I am an Emmy-nominated Creative Director/Art Director/Designer with over 10+ years of experience in creative advertising, digital media and film. During this time, I have created inspiring social and 360 campaigns with over 150+ major motion picture titles, TV shows and game titles and drove online discussions for some of the world’s biggest brands and studios including YouTube, Activision, Blizzard, Meta, Netflix, A24, Disney, Pixar, Hulu, Marvel, Amazon, Warner Brothers, Universal, Spotify, Apple, Sony Pictures, Fox Searchlight, Nike, Adidas, and many others.

As a Creative Director/Art Director/Designer, I help agencies create and elevate the creative with strategic positioning, team building, growing agency departments, nurturing younger talent, winning new business, advocating positive client relations, creating bespoke content, and managing small to large internal teams with high demanding workloads while providing white glove services to the clients.

Most recently, I was the Global Creative Director for social verticals for YouTube (inc. YouTube Music, Gaming, Creators, Kids) where I managed creative content for over 500M+ followers across all social channels. I grew and managed a team of 10+. During my time there, I successfully led the campaigns for Coachella 2022, Women’s History Month, Black History Month, Pride Month, BTS’ Proof album drop, and YouTube Creator Gifting. Much of the content was also shared across countless artists, including Billie Eilish, BTS and Aespa’s social accounts.

Before that at Hi5 Agency, I successfully launched Blizzard’s Diablo II: Resurrected video game and sustained the social accounts by creating highly engaging evergreen and community-specific content, including launch trailers and large fan-centric activations such as a Fooji x Diablo, which trended #1 on Twitter worldwide organically. By working closely and collaboratively with the client on a daily basis, I developed 30/60/90 strategies to sustain not just the launch of the game, but also to support post-release creative content across all platforms in time for release for the upcoming Diablo: Immortal and the highly anticipated Diablo 4 video games.

For my social and 360 work on film and TV, I have led a substantial amount of creative campaigns, including Halloween Ends, Marvel’s She-Hulk, Top Gun: Maverick, Disney’s Cruella (Clio Grand Winner), FX’s Snowfall S6, The Gentlemen, Jojo Rabbit, 11.22.63, Inside Out (Gold Communicator Winner), The Hunt, 10 Cloverfield Lane, War Dogs, Blockers, Late Night, Brittany Runs a Marathon, The Happytime Murders, Power Rangers, and countless others at top creative agencies.

Prior to working on social and 360 campaigns, I was a Creative Director for title sequences who concepted, directed and led teams for main titles for the Emmy-nominated Narcos S1, Godzilla (2014), American Horror Story: Coven, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Frank Darabont’s Mob City, Terrence Malick’s Knight of Cups and many others.

As a relentless creative with a designer’s eye and a hands-on approach, I don’t shy away from going above and beyond to create meaningful and impactful creative for brands.
