The campaign for Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates leaned hard into the film’s chaotic, R-rated hilarity. We placed the wild personalities of Zac Efron, Adam Devine, Aubrey Plaza, and Anna Kendrick front and center. The premise—a pair of out-of-control brothers getting outmatched by even more outrageous women—gave us the perfect comedic engine to create platform-native content with real stopping power.
Our editorial and design approach played with the idea of "dating gone wrong" and "vacation from hell." From over-the-top swipe profiles to fake wedding etiquette PSAs, the content mimicked the aesthetic of real social feeds but cranked the comedy to 11. Custom videos, GIF loops, and stills were built around meme-style editorial that felt unhinged and interactive, like you had stumbled into a party you weren't prepared for.
We also built episodic content pieces for Instagram and Snapchat, including scripted bits with the cast and "lost footage" from the infamous wedding trip. These helped us expand the universe of the film beyond the trailer and brought fans into the absurd world of Mike and Dave before they even stepped into the theater. The campaign stood out by owning its wild tone and fully committing to social-first humor, earning huge traction on X, Facebook, and Instagram.
